European Spot Bitcoin ETF Adopts Decarbonization Strategy

by Blockchaincubes

The Jacobi FT Wilshire Bitcoin ETF, which is currently listed on Euronext Amsterdam, represents a significant European milestone in terms of ESG alignment.

The ETF is the first digital asset fund, according to SFDR Article 8 with its innovative decarbonization methodology. Its integrated Renewable Energy Certificate solution caters to institutional investors, allowing them to benefit from Bitcoin while adhering to ESG goals.

Key Partnerships and Regulation

The ETF, which is regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and traded as BCOIN, collaborates with Fidelity Digital Assets for custodial services, while Flow Traders handles market-making. Jane Street and DRW are among the authorized participants.

Landscapes in Conflict: Europe vs. the United States

While Europe rejoices, the United States remains without a Bitcoin ETF, with prospects for approval looking bleak in the short future, according to former SEC Office of Internet Enforcement head John Reed Stark.
